Once people wrote on cave walls, on tree trunks, or on soft clay. They had no paper. The ancient Egyptians were the first to use a material that was a little like today's paper. Read the following passage:
Fast food is the food sold in many inexpensive restaurants as McDonald’s, Kentucky and Hardeez . It called “Fast” because you get your food very quickly. It might take you only twenty minutes to get in, order your meal, eat it and leave. Almost one fifth of the earth's land is desert. The Sahara, in Africa, is the largest and hottest of all deserts in the world, but the Rub Al-Khali, in the Arabian Peninsula has the largest continuous area of moving sand that covers 250,000 square miles approximately.

Many people assume that flying is the safest way to travel. However, in 1996, there were 13 air accidents. The number of deaths in these accidents exceeded 2,000. Experts and passengers are inquiring why flying is becoming more unsafe. In August, 1996, a TWA Boeing crashed into the Atlantic Ocean 12 minutes after take-off. All 230 passengers were killed. Read the passage that follows:
Natural rubber is obtained from rubber trees as a white, milky liquid known as latex. This is treated with acid and dried before being exported to countries all over the world. As the rubber industry developed, more and more rubber was required. Although rubber plantations were established in countries with a hot humid climate,they still could not supply sufficient raw rubber to satisfy the requirements of the developing industry.
It was unsatisfactory for industry to rely on supplies imported from the remote industrial areas of Europe. Besides, it was possible that supplies could be stopped by wars or by shipping troubles.
For many years, attempts were made to produce a substitute for rubber until finally a method was discovered to manufacture synthetic rubber. This new artificial rubber has proven to be in many ways superior, and in some other ways inferior to natural rubber. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has never thought of becoming an agricultural country that makes all their own food because it is mostly desert land. Its soil is only sand that nobody can use to grow anything. It has no rivers and it depends on rain water. Moreover, its climate is either very hot in summer or very cold in winter. Twenty years ago, the government used to buy all its needs of food from abroad and most kinds of the food, frozen or in cans at food stores were foreign.
Nowadays, if you shop at a supermarket, you can find any kind of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, chickens, and fish and all are local products of the kingdom. That's why we should be very proud of our government that was able to turn the dry deserts into green farms.

Like many other animals, the tiger is unlikely to continue to exist in wild areas for much longer. Unless we become a partner with nature by protecting animals instead of killing them, many kinds of animals living on Earth will no longer exist. Experts predict that tigers, like many wild animals around the world, will probably become extinct very soon. Natural rubber is obtained from rubber trees as a white, milky liquid known
as latex. This is treated with acid and dried before being exported to countries all over the world. As the rubber industry developed, more and more rubber was required.
Rubber plantations were established in countries with a hot, humid climate,
but these still could not supply sufficient raw rubber to satisfy the requirements of the developing industry.
It was unsatisfactory for industry to rely on supplies imported from the remote industrial areas of Europe. Besides, it was possible that supplies could stopped by wars or by shipping troubles.
For many years, attempts were made to produce a substitute for rubber until finally a method was discovered to manufacture synthetic rubber. This new artificial rubber has proven to be in many ways superior, and in some other ways inferior to natural rubber. However, it remains cheaper than natural rubber. At present, the world requirements for rubber are so great that both natural and synthetic rubber are still used in large quantities.
