[align=left]A " collocation" is the habitual co-occurrence of individual lexical items. It is "
a combination of two or words that always occur together consistently in different texts
and contexts in language. That is a certin noun
occurs with a certain adjective( e.g. " blind confidence " , a verb with
a noun ( e.g "draw a sword ", a noun with a noun ( e.g. " , etc.
The translation of collocations can be discussed through the discussion
of their commonest types in English.

The classification of these types is purely grammatical, depending on
the grammatical groupings of word classes according to their occurrence
together in the use of language.
1- Adjective + noun collocations : e.g.
" hard labour"
"fast sleep "
" warm reception "
- "black market "
"smashing victory"
"bad news "
"peaceful death "
"idle talk"
- "raging storm "
- "great pleasure "
2 Verb + noun collocations : e.g.
"attend a lecture "
"run a company "
"score a victory "
"pay attention "
- "seize the opportunity "
-"draw a sword "
"teach a lesson "
