I followed your footprints in the dark
and all I found was dust
the road was empty
no sound, no place for my soul to hide
I laugh on a wandering memory
jumped suddenly in the back of my mind
It tried to cheer up my sad heart
but I couldn't see a thing
My eyes were flooded with tears
I raised my head slowly, whispered my prayers
in the sound of silence
I looked around and the only thing I saw
was a huge cloud of loneliness
came toward me
It wasn't winter but I could swear
My words got frozen in my throat
and I couldn't call your name

What a touching piece of writing ! Allow me first to say that once my eyes saw the title ,my mind immediately went back to something written by me under '' Never Been Told '' . However what you wrote here is definitely brighter and more interesting . I like the images used in the text so much especially the last ones . May Allah turn those tears ,loneliness and frozen words to joyfulness someday and refill your road and entire life with happiness wherever you are .Thanks a lot for sharing that with us .
