ما يأتي بعد كلمة by فعل مزيد بـ (-ing) ويصبح إسما.

يأتي هذا الزمن عادة مع كلمات مثل :

ملحوظة:
هذا الزمن عادة ما يأتي معه زمن الماضي البسيط و الذي وقع أثناء حدوثه

(بينما كنت نائماً ، دخل لص غرفتي)

(بينما كنا نأكل ، جاء والدي)
هذه الجملة تحتوي على حدثين أحدهما ماضي مستمر وهو الأكل والآخر مجيء والدي الذي حصل أثناء الأكل .
ملاحظة:
يمكن وضع أداة الربط وسط الجملة دون أن يتغير المعنى فتصبح الجملتان السابقة كما يلي :

Nobody in his early period of life ever to think about eating healthy. Most of the killer diseases don’t only affect old people but they are also common among teenagers and children. So we should control what we eat. Reading the labels which are on the packets enables us to see what kinds of contents there are inside . At the end, Try to stay away of much fats, sugar and salt to enjoy your health and look better.
