I need your advice

Dear friends ,


I'm an English language teacher , as most of you know , in a public intermediate school. I want to ask you if it's a good idea to transfer to a public secondary school .



I've really had it with the noise of the children of the intermediate school. I can't really bear it anymore . I've lost my temper so many times because of them . I lost my temper because I felt that I do not have the ability to teach children . I really feel like a stupid person everytime I say the letters of the alphabets. I graduated with an average of 4.30 out of 5.


Is it possible to apply for an exchange transfer with a teacher from a secondary school ? Is it a condition that we must both teach the same stage?


I need your help.

if i were u, i will not hesitate


it is better to change your level of teaching in order to acknowledge urself with different levels

and to be familiar with all the changes in the curriculum



my own opinion is that u should do ur best to transfer

and i don't exactly know whether you can go to a secondary school or not but what i knew
is that in my Village school Intermediate and secondary level school are both together
and i can ask for either of them

any way i hope you will be ok so soon

Where were U 4 years ago when I was teaching secondary level ?
I l transferred to Intermediate because the school was too close to my house

anyway it's good 2 change the rotten and the experience

there were no conditions 2 transfer from level 2 another

Go for it, brother

I was always saying it's easier to teach kids cause they're easy to control

but as you said , sometimes, I do lose my temper with them

I swear sometimes I feel that they are still KG students

Teaching teenagers is not an easy, too

You have to face and deal with their problems

I'm teaching 7th and 9th graders now

7th graders are kids. Sometimes I feel like holding their hands in order to make them start writing

hhhhhhhhhhhh

9th graders are mature, yet teenagers

they give me the best time in the class when presenting the lesson

yet, they give me the hardest time when they come up with problems

Still, I'm enjoying teaching both stages



It's obvious from your words that you can't tolerate those kids anymore

So do the transfer

Why not asking your supervisor about the possiblity of doing the transfer exchange

From what I've just read I can sense how desperate you are

You're willing to do anything inorder to get rid of the hectic atmosphere you're leading

I'm telling you this cause I've been through the same situation when I was transfered to a primary school after teaching in a secondary one

It took me a long time to cope with it and to accept the whole thing specially when I found out that I'm really helping those youngsters to learn the basics of the language properly unlike the older ones who are hardly interested in what you're saying

I know that kids are blessings but only to those who know how to deal with them wisely and patiently

And since you can't tolerate it anymore it's wise enough to change to another level

But let me tell one more thing before you go ahead

Sometimes changing places isn't always the right solution

So think it over and over again before you decide

i wasn't shocked when i saw ur Q ... my mother has the same problem !!!

i think it's better for u 2 transfore cuz the students older and can respect u BUT believe me u can't find good students who really want 2 learn in these times ...

you don't have too wait any more you have to transfer
It's not your level to teach children
pupil in the secondary need your talent more than those kids

T.sultan....... before you take your decision.... think about it carefully .....aske the people who have experience in this field .......study the situation that we will be in the place you want to go for and ......ask God to help you (do consultation pray_if you are muslim-) then do what you see is the best for you
