Have you looked at yourself lately?[/GRADE]




When you look at mirror you assume you are looking at your face !

But that’s the lie you have been trained to live with.

You actually see what you want to see.

You get up in morning and Start wearing masks for the day,

one for wife, One for Boss, One for friend and One for Kids- So on and on.

Based on what you want you project you wear a face.

It’s not accidental that more people love actors than any other profession.

Deep inside you are nothing but an actor.

You play roles based on whom you meet and what you feel.

Only difference is nobody gives you star status for daily acting!



Situations change so you need many false faces, masks.

From the morning till the evening, from the evening till the morning,

thousands of faces are used. When you see a man approaching who is powerful,
you change the mask; when you see a man who is a beggar approaching you,

you are different. The whole time, moment to moment, there is a constant

change in the face .




One has to be alert about it because it has become so mechanical that you need

not be aware of it, it goes on changing by itself. If a servant comes in the room

you don’t even look at him. You act as if he is not a man, as if he doesn’t exist,

as if nobody has entered. But when the boss comes in the room you suddenly

jump, you have a smiling face, receiving, welcoming, as if God himself has

entered into the room.




Watch your face, the changes that occur continuously.

Look in the mirror and think of the many faces that you can change.

Look in the mirror and bring the face that comes when you see your wife;

look at the face when you are greedy, when you are angry;

create the face when you feel dissatisfied, frustrated.

And watch in the mirror: you will find you are not one man —

you are a crowd. And sometimes it will be difficult even to recognize that all

these faces belong to you. A mirror can be a great blessing.

You can meditate in the mirror, change your faces and look at them.

This will give you a glimpse of how false your whole life has become.

And none of these faces is you.

All these relationships — enemy or friend, father or son, wife or husband —

have so engulfed you that within yourself you can neither find nor know your

own being.




In Love and meditation you can come face to face with your own face.

That’s why people in love keep looking into each other eyes and face.

In Love you don’t wear mask, you carry real face. As love wears out in

relationship you constantly start wearing masks and the only thing you avoid

is looking into each others face.

The day you find your real face, you don’t need a mirror because whole

cosmos reflects your face!

First of all let me thank you for your nice choice
I liked your topic and I enjoyed reading it

I think that wearing masks depends on the situation you're dealing with
although we try not to but we end up doing it
For me, I like to wear this mask as much as I can cause
it makes me feel good about myself
even if I am having a bad day or whatsoever situation
for its not a good thing to make everyone feel that you're having issues
so in that case using a mask to hide all these things would be helpful

first, let me thank you for this wonderful topic.
secondly, in my opinion, wear the mask you like in condition that you don't cause harm to others. personally, i wear many masks a day hoping to please my wife, children and people around me. i dont remember that i worn a mask that showed my evil side and i hope not to be forced to do so.

I think it's our nature that changes and tries to adapt with different situations


I can't treat my boss the same way I treat my friend or my sister


what matters is that our hearts don't change

I've read this topic before and it's still wonderful as we are able to read many different thoughts from our members here


As for me, it's not a way of wearing masks as much as it's considered lemme call it a usual change of the situations or the circumstances the we face daily which force us to act and get along with'em.

I do put my hands altogether with Aseel's , what really does matter is, our hearts don't get changed, our kindness ain't vanish whatever the circumstances are, and never let'em fade our smiles away. As a final point, there gonna be a kinda relieved reflection deep within our souls and others' as well.

.However ,in my point of view,having such multifarious Masks are such interesting things to have in our life .If you wear black glasses, you will see everything around black,if you wear red ones ,everthing will change to red.I just wanna say that we can colour our life just as the way we wish.So ,if we turn to be sad everthing around will go sad and if we pretend to smile and be happy ,I am sure that everthing around you will be indicating to the happiness you were always trying to catch

Regarding to your question, I always try to wear the hopeful mask in order to be hopeful ,though everything around nowadays may sometimes let you dowen
