Introduction:
First, I did this report in order to know what the causes of obesity are during childhood. Second, I wanted to know what the effects of obesity are and what it can do in the human’s body. Finally, I mentioned several ways to protect ourselves from being fat or even overweight.
Methods:
First, I have written a questionnaire and interviewed some students from Higher College of Technology, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman Medical College and Middle East College of Technology. Second, I used the internet to gather some information in order to have an idea about how people become overweight and how they can protect themselves from being obese. Finally, I used the computer to print out the questionnaire, tally sheet, meeting agenda, action plane and the report.
Findings:
Do you know the meaning of Body Mass Index?
BMI (The Body Mass index) is the common method of evaluating individual people to see if they are under or overweight. It involves comparing their weight to their height by dividing the weight measurement (expressed in kilograms) by the square of the height (expressed in meters).
Do you know the difference between obesity and being overweight?
Being obese is to be very fat. Being overweight is to have few more kilograms than the normal weight. Obese people usually have a lot of health problems but the overweight people don’t have it.
Do you know that obesity cause health problems?
Obesity is responsible for more than 21,507,000 premature deaths per year around the world. Obesity is an important risk factor for a number of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, some cancers, renal failure, asthma and type II diabetes.
What are the habits that cause obesity?
There are so many reasons that cause overweight or fatness such as:
Eat a lot of junk food.
Sleep for more time than the body needs.
Watch television or play video games a lot of time.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, I learned so many things about obesity and what it can do in our body. For example: obese people became ill easily. I learned some of the causes of obesity and overweight such us:
Eat a lot of junk food.
Be lazy and don’t do any thing.
Sleep for more time than the body needs.
Watch television or play video games a lot of time.
So we should avoid being obese or overweight to have good and healthy body.
Recommendations:
In conclusion, I think any person can choose his body weight -heavy or not- and mass –fat or thin-. So, if you want to have feet body you, should follow these simple instructions:
Eat healthy food.
Exercises two times every week. (at least)
Sleep for six to eight hours every day.
Don’t watch television or play video games a lot of time.
