Yemen transition deal teeters as Saleh fails to sign

Yemen’s Gulf-brokered deal to remove President Ali Abdullah Saleh from power was on the verge of collapse on Sunday after Saleh refused to sign, raising the threat of further instability in the Arabian Peninsula state. Saleh, long considered a US ally against Al-Qaeda’s Yemen-based wing, had already forced mediators to split the signing ceremonies over two days in Sanaa and in Riyadh, on Sunday, and has objected to the presence of Qatari officials

Qaddafi survives NATO airstrike but loses youngest son

A NATO missile strike killed Muammar Qaddafi's youngest son and three grandchildren on Saturday but the Libyan leader survived, a government spokesman said. Osama Bin Laden killed in raid


Osama Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan, President Barack Obama said on Sunday. A team of Americans killed Bin Laden in a firefight early Monday (Asian time) at a compound in the Pakistani town of Abbottabat, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of the capital Islamabad, US and Pakistani officials said.

there would be a lot of embarrassment for Pakistan when answers emerge to key questions such as: What role did Pakistani security agencies play in the operation? Who provided the intelligence — and to whom? If Pakistan had the intelligence, why did it not carry out the operation itself? Saudi female students ranked first in UAE medical conference

Six Saudi female students of King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah are ranked first for their medical research in the 7th Emirates Critical Care Conference (ECCC) which was held in conjunction with the 3rd Asia Africa Conference of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (WFSICCM) and the 7th International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society (IPACCMS) congress in UAE.

The winning research is titled “the contamination of keyboards and mouses in Jeddah intensive care units”. The researchers were Amna Yamani, Hind Husawy, Kawthar Baqtada, Lojain Al Gharwy, Najlaa Shokry and Wafa’ Al Anzy from the Medical Labs Technology Department, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, King Abdulaziz University.

Dr. Hussein Nassar Al Rahma (the Conference President) assured that the results of these winning researches would be published in the periodic Medical Magazine issued by Federation of Critical Medicine and Intensive Care Societies (FEPIMCTI). The competition included 50 scientific researches of 15 countries.
