pollution of the environment
Pollution is very dangerous because it threatens life on earth .The main kinds of
of the land .The atmosphere is polluted by the rising smoke from cars and factories .
Rivers and seas are polluted from factories which pour its chemical waste in them .
They are also polluted from oil tankers and factory ships .The land is polluted by
spraying pesticide and burying atomic wastes .pollution leads to destroying ozone
layer .It is a layer of gases which protect the earth from the sun’s ultraviolet rays .

Saudi Arabia in the Past and Today
In the past , People used to live in traditional houses made of mud , wood
and straw . Women used to get water from wells . People used to light houses by oil
lamps . Cooking was done on an open fire . Mothers used to make remedies from
plants and trees . There were no formal schools . They used to sit and listen to stories
Nowadays , People live in modern ,spacious houses made of concrete ,metal
and glass. Water is pumped into houses on taps . People use electricity in lighting
houses .Cooking is done on gas and electric cookers . People have medical treatment
at modern hospitals . Children go to free formal school .They listen to the radio ,
watch TV. Or play computer games .

Food is the fuel for the human body . It makes us move and work . A balanced diet
is the right mixture of food which gives us energy and strength . It should have 5
nutrients . They are carbohydrates , fats , proteins , vitamins and minerals. Fats are
found in cheese , butter , oil and meat . They give us energy . Carbohydrates are
found in potatoes , bread cereals and sugar . They give us energy. Proteins are found
in meat , fish , chickens and milk .They build up our bodies Vitamins are found in
fresh fruit and vegetables .They protect us from diseases .Minerals are found in
green vegetables and fresh fruit .They strengthens our bones and teeth .
